Short Itinerary
Day 1 - Dehradun to Sankri
Day 2 - Sankri – Juda Ka Talab (5 kms)
Day 3 - Juda Ka Talab to Kedarkantha Base Camp
Day 4 - Kedarkantha base camp to Kedarkantha peak and back to Kedarkantha base camp after lunch juda ka talab
Day 5 - Juda Ka Talab – Sankri
Day 6 - Sankri to Dehradun
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Haridwar/Dehradun to Sankri
Early morning Pickup from Haridwar/Dehradun. Then we will start our beautiful
journey
towards Sankri via Barkot, Purola, Mori, Netwar along the Tons River it’s
a
240 km (10 hours journey) overnight stay in Sankri.
Meal - Dinner
Day 2: Sankri – Juda Ka Talab (5 kms)
Our first camp will be The Juda Ka Talab. We will start a 5km trek after breakfast.
The
trail passes through dense pine forests, maple trees, few streams and then will
reach
the meadows.
Meal - Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 3: After seeing the early morning golden glow view of snow we will start the
4-hour
trek towards Kedar Kantha peak. During this trek, we will pass through some meadows
where we can see shepherd log huts. After lunch, we will explore the fascinating
view of
arc shaped range of snow clapped mountains. Kedarkantha will be clearly visible from
our
camp site at night. Then we will spend the night in the tent.
Meal - Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 4: Kedarkantha Base – Kedarkantha Peak – Juda Ka Talab (6kms)
We will start our day with a beautiful sunrise in the meadows of Kedar Kantha. After
witnessing the h4ine beauty of nature we will start our trek towards Hargaon
camping
site.
This path will be fully covered with snow.
Meal - Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 5: Juda Ka Talab – Sankri(5km)
Today we will trek down towards Sankri( 8900 feet to 6400 feet) after seeing the
sunrise
from the Horegaon campsite will start the trek. The nexus of thick wood pine forest
and
while trekking at some places we can see the open views of beautiful Har Ki Dun
valley.
Meal - Breakfast & Dinner
Day 6: Sankri to Dehradun/Haridwar
The last day of our trip. We will travel back to Dehradun.

How much weight will I have to carry?
It is advisable to carry a 6L backpack, the weight to be carried will depend on your requirements and capacity

Will there be mobile connectivity on Kedarkantha Trek?
Most of the mobile networks do not work for most part of this trek. Vodafone and BSNL are the only mobile networks that work in patches along the way (but are inconsistent).

What type of winter trek is this? Do we need to walk in a lot of snow?
When it comes to trekking in India in winter, the Kedarkantha trek would be your best bet. From December to April, Kedarkantha makes for a terrific trek in virgin snow, with pretty campsites and astonishingly wide clearings in the forests. You are likely to come across snow just as you cross the 10,000 ft mark, lying on the forest floor among the pine trees. When you reach the meadows, a huge blanket of white is likely to surround you in every direction

What kind of fitness is required for this Kedarkantha Trek?
This trek begins easy but gets moderately difficult with every passing day. It makes a lot of sense to spend some time before coming on a trekking holiday getting some additional exercise. The fitter you are, after all, the more enjoyable you will find the experience. For this trip you need to be aerobically fit and also comfortable with walking up to 7 hours on some days. Though, this trek is very beginner-friendly and falls in the easy category.

What kind of medicines should I carry before going for this trek?
Carrying medicines is important while trekking anywhere in the world. Though basic first-aid can be provided if you ask to your trek guide. During the trek you may not have access to pharmacies. So it’s better to have your medications ready.

When is the best time for Kedarkantha Trek?
Kedarkantha peak winter trek is a great trek to do in winters during the month of December to April & in May also. During this time you can see the clear view of the region and snow filled campsites. Each campsite turns into a fairyland in the snow. During the springtime too this trek can be done as the forests come alive in this season, and the snow stays in parts all the way until April.

What kind of shoes I should have for the Kedarkantha Trek?
You should carry high-ankle trekking shoes. Different shoes are suitable for different kinds of treks, depending on the weather, trail condition as well as duration of the trek. For this particular trek, shoes with thick souls are recommended

What will be the facility of food and water on this trek?
There are proper meals with subsequent nutritional values planned for the people coming in for the trek. All meals will be provided. This would include nutritional vegetarian meals, with the addition of tea and coffee during breaks.
